SIFU JEFF MICHAELS (Sifu Level, 7th Dan) has been training and teaching martial arts for over 50 years.

He began his martial arts training in New York  in 1959 at the age of 8, beginning with Tang Soo Do, Moo Duk Kwan, &  Judo/Jiu Jitsu/Aikido.

At 12 years old he was introduced to Hung Ga Kung fu and began his training in this style with Bill Chung, and subsequently other Hung Ga teachers. From that period until late 1970s he also studied Hung Mei Pai with Sifu Tonny Kho and Wing Chun with Lee Moy Shan until 1980 when he met Grandmaster Frank Yee (Yee Chi Wai) and knew from that meeting that He and Sifu Yee would become lifelong friends as well as a Kung Fu mentor. Sifu Yee's style of Hung ga was handed down from Tang Fung and fit Sifu Michaels' penchant for tradition and strong solid roots.

Sifu Jeff Michaels has the distinction of being amongst the earlier senior disciples of Yee's Hung Ga Association and is honored to be a 4th generation disciple from Wong Fei Hung. He is a Yup Sut Senior Disciple of Grandmaster Frank Yee. At present, Sifu Jeff teaches in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Sifu Michaels believes that although keeping with tradition is always vital, as you grow you see tradition with older and wiser eyes and it is important to realize that no matter how far we have come, there is always much to learn, and one should always have an open mind to what appears to be new ideas. Those new ideas are usually only new to us, but have been around for ages.

Keep training, keep learning, and keep moving forward. At Yee's Hung Ga, we believe that an art that is kept secret dies. Therefore, go forth and teach to all who desire to learn.
